KSCC,
Attached is our latest membership list. May 2008. Thanks Mary Ann Neilson for your help. Just a reminder that this Saturday May 10th is our first KSCC cruise at Ron's. We plan to meet at the far lot. I've also included a list of those who will be displaying their Corvette's at next months 32 Annual KSCC all Corvette Show at David Penske Chevrolet. We have around 20 pre-registered Corvettes so as usual we will be depending on members to participate. Last year including club cars we had close to 100 Corvettes. This year it would be nice to break that mark. Also this year we are awarding five KSCC Top 5 Pick Awards. Hope to see you there-it should be a good show. .......If you were not at the meeting but want to join us with your Corvette please email me back so we can have your window plaque made up and ready to go.
                                                            Thanks,
                                                                 Ken

May minutes and new membership list in Members only section.

Please note that you can also use the on-line registration for the Penske Show.

KSCC,
Thought you might want to see a few pic's of the Thomas Show. We had 4 KSCC cars representing our club plus a good number of our members came to the show to browse and keep the rest of us company. It was appreciated. There were 70 some Corvettes. Not bad for a show that was suppose to be a washout. Bob Z. took a first place with his very nice 73 and I took a Best of Show. We also signed up 4 Corvettes for our Penske Show next month. See you Tuesday.

KSCC,

Boy we are a busy club. The Red Rose in-a joint activity with CCND saw 68 members from both clubs. The weather wasn't the best but we did enjoy the company the food and Lance and Michele Miller. Saturday April 19th is the KSCC Poker Run. Tom, Mike, Mary Ann and Annette really put a lot of time and effort into this event-I hope you'll be at there at Shady Maple and join us on the 19th.Great event for a great charity.  Any questions please call or email Tom Nelison at tgnman@comcast.net. Frank Dubeck also asked me to pass another event that wasn't mentioned at the meeting. This is Rott's N Vette's N Rods (hey I'm not making this up) Car Show at the Kimberton Fairgrounds the next day-Sunday April 20th  9-3. This is a great show with some very nice Corvettes and Hot Rods. Last year we had a good number of KSCC members both enter their cars or stop by to shoot the breeze and take in the show. Greg ha s posted this event on our calander of events along with the flyer-thanks for picking up on this event Greg. Check it out and I hope to see you at both events.
                                                        Thanks,

KSCC Plate update

Dec 2007

The new KSCC plates were received in time for Christmas. Nice present. They look great on the car. You can see mine on the KSCC plate page.

Corvettes for Kids

Good morning KSCC.

I thought I would share an update about the progress of Ally Heintz, the 2007 Corvettes for Kids, Inc. spokes child.  You will recall that 3 ½ year old Ally had a stomach, liver, small bowel and pancreas transplant on 7/29/07, just before the CFK show.  She has had many ups and downs but the latest information as to her situation is very promising.

As taken from the journal http://allyheintz.aboutmybaby.com to which the family posts updates, here is the good news.

Mon, Nov 26, 2007 8:08 PM

We are definitely on the launching pad to have Ally discharged. I think Ashley (her sister) is the most excited. She even asked me if I could send a note to school saying that Ally will be coming home soon. She and some of her classmates worked on a welcome home banner for Ally J   Ally is looking great and we just need to get a few more things taken care of and we should be good to go. . . . keep checking in for the official word that we are home!

Regards,

Bernadette

Up coming events

KSCC,
Just a reminder of upcoming KSCC events. First up is the annual airport run. A brunch at the Chester County Airport. We are working out the details and more info to follow. This is usually scheduled on a Sunday after Thanksgiving. Next up is our club meeting which will be on Tuesday November 27th at Ron's. This meeting will replace our regular December meeting. Please bring all sold and unsold raffle tickets to the meeting. December 1st is the next event which is the toy run at County Corvette's. Time 10-2. Bring an unwrapped toy and enjoy the fun. This usually gets a large draw. We can even kick around the idea of meeting as a group and having a caravan to the event if we have enough interest. Of course the main event of the holiday season is the Grande Ball taking place on Sat. December 1st. Open to all members, prospective members and friends and family of KSCC. Don't forget to bring your door prizes. It's going to be fun. Doodie and Barry are on vacation but if you did not get the formal invitation please give me a reply and I'll make sure one is sent to your home.
                                                            Thanks,
                                                                  Ken

License Plate update Nov 6, 2007

14 plates are now on orded for members. Between the sale of the sample plates and the $20 club fee we already paid off the design cost and are well on our way to raising additional money for the club.

See KSCC Plate link on the left for a\a copy of the application and instructions for ordering your plate. Remember you don't have to restrict their use to your Corvette, you can put them on your daily drivers. They can be put on any automobile, truck or motor home with a gross vehicle weight below 9,000 lbs.

This a great way to advertise the club and show your support.

Thanks for your support.

August 26, 2007 Carlisle Disaster

Additional links below

Members, Prospective members,
You may or may not have heard that 77+ mph winds ripped through Carlisle last night. At least 5 people had to be transported to the hospital. One gentleman tried to ride the storm out in his Corvette and had severe head and chest injuries when a tree fell down on his car. Although Carlisle is always a great time this one had a bad ending. The group from KSCC was camping and just finishing the meals cooked by Ron when the dark clouds started to roll in. We were still all laughing until the rains and winds hit. Before you could reach cover all hell broke loose. I didn't bother to stake down my tent and I was holding on to the frame to try and prevent it from ending up it the next county. Others like John and Frank tried to keep the damage to a minimum and away from the cars (Franks newly painted step side didn't fair well, John P's Corvette came out untouched) The rain came down in sheets and we all ended up soaked to the bone. I walked around and snapped some pic's. My Corvette was on display at a vendor tent called ACP. I took it out for the fun field and was thinking of putting it back in the vendor tent after dinner. That tent and many others were destroyed with major damage to cars and parts inside. The entire fairgrounds was covered with parts papers and torn tents. The 57 reunion tent was torn to shreds and many a car crushed or damaged. As I passed by a lady C1 owner just stood and cried-her car a victim of the storm. Emergency vehicles were everywhere. One gentleman had a rod through a leg another had his leg shattered. The whole scene was unreal. One second we are sitting around having beers and a good time the next minute a disaster for many. Thank goodness no los s of life but a lot of damage. Hail the size of pennies. Haven't checked my car for damage yet-I'm almost afraid to go into the garage. Many of us soaked to the bone and no shelter packed up and left as quickly as possible trying to miss the next cell to pass. I'm sure we'll have to sort out the gear. We packed in the dark. I have a blue chair that isn't mine and I'm missing some stuff myself. All and all a great time with a not so great ending but one for the Carlisle record books for sure.

Quote from Lance Miller last night,  (Aug 27, 2007)

Hi everyone, it's been a VERY long day/night here at Carlisle. I saw this post and wanted to make sure everyone heard it from the "horses mouth". I'd like to provide all the information that I'm aware of at this time about this evenings storm. There are already a lot of rumors spreading... hopefully this post will help clarify everything.

There was a serious storm that hit Carlisle this evening. I'm not certain if it was a tornado at this point in time, I'll let you know once I find out more info (I've heard wind gusts of up to 70mph). I can assure you it's not exactly pretty right now (12:30 am) on our grounds. Fortunately we DID NOT HAVE ANY FATALITIES - the rumor mill is ramped from what I've been hearing.

There were 5 injuries that I'm aware of at this point. There were incredibly high winds and as you all know there are a lot of tents throughout the grounds - it's not pretty. It will be business as usual tomorrow morning. Our staff did an incredible job, I'm thrilled to be a part of such a great team.

It's getting late, I just wanted to drop everyone a line prior to getting out of my office... I hope this message helps clarify everything. I'd be happy to share further info, but I'm exhausted after such a hot long day.

Good evening,
Lance
